Online Advertising VS Traditional Advertising

 

It is apparent that traditional advertising is no longer as effective as it was 15 years ago and more businesses are using online ads to get their message and branding across simply because it's measurable, cheap, flexible and very effective.

It is also obvious that the more you spend the better your exposure and sales results.

Most traditional media owners will disagree, but spend hundreds and thousands of rands on a billboard or a radio ad and ask for actual response results, you won't get them as easily as you could with a well planned online pay per click campaign.

In all my years in the advertising industry the big hype was always about whether the campaign is measurable, cost per thousand vs ROI la la la. The worst was they clients lost advertising Rand....Brrrr

Firstly you need a very informative online presence i.e. a website or blog encouraging people to use, buy or abuse your product or service. Then you need an effective promotion to drive them to your website i.e. a discount, trial or attractively bundled package. Set up you online campaign with either Google or Facebook to the budget you can afford, it is very flexible and audience driven, then wait and see what happens.

Better still, test them for yourself. But before you go with the good old traditional advertising, test online Google or Facebook ads first, because it doesn't cost and arm and a leg, you will not be sorry and more likely stay where you are.

If online advertising doesn't work for you then there has to be something wrong with your product or service. But advertise you must.
